WWE Superstars often face ups and downs during their tenure with the company, especially with releases being part of the industry. And many of the stars, like Lana, after being released, often find their way back to the promotion.
Lana, who had an impressive run spanning almost a decade, was released in 2021. After showing up briefly in AEW, the star found her way back to WWE, though under a Legends contract this time around.
Lana recently spoke with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, where she revealed her thoughts about her release in 2021. She spoke frankly and accepted that it came as a big shock to her, leaving her devastated.
"I was shocked. I was on television and in big, big storylines the whole time. Had a great relationship with Bruce [Prichard] and Vince [McMahon], everyone. I was devastated. But now looking back, I'm thankful, because that's life, and sometimes our hardest moments is [sic] our moments that teach us. Now looking back, I realize, not in a mean way, but nothing's guaranteed in life. We can't compare ourselves to other people, because we all have a different journey. And also, we don't live forever, so everything has to come to an end, so let's focus on all the great things I was able to have, versus it may be finishing too soon," Lana said. Lana Revealed Vince McMahon's Role in a Controversial WWE Segment
Lana, no stranger to wild storylines on WWE programming, in the same interview, she spoke about a highly controversial segment that took place when she was playing the role of Dolph Ziggler's manager.
She explained how Vince McMahon was a professional and made her feel comfortable when she had to practice her kisses with Ziggler. She went on to say that McMahon even showed how the sequence needed to be executed, along with John Laurinaitis.
"Yeah, it was a little awkward when I had to practice that kiss with Dolph [Ziggler] and my, at the time, boyfriend was in the room. The whole thing was so funny, because Johnny Ace [John Laurinaitis] and Vince [McMahon] show [us] what we need to do, and they get up real close, real super close," Lana said.
With Lana back in WWE under a Legends contract, it wouldn't be a shock to see her return to the squared circle, either as a competitor or even as a manager.
