Dominik Mysterio is currently one of the top stars in the WWE. However, he recalls feeling scared during his debut in the company.
Dominik Mysterio actually made his WWE debut in 2005 when he was part of the Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero storyline, where the latter claimed to be Dom's father. This culminated in a ladder match at SummerSlam 2005. This is one of the most renowned storylines in WWE history due to its personal nature. This also influenced Dom's career trajectory.
During a recent interview with WWE on its YouTube channel, Dom recalled that the storyline was Eddie Guerrero's idea.
"He did so much for our family because it was his idea to do the whole custody battle. He was just always making sure that I was ok getting taken care of, always very kind, helpful, just a bright light."

During the match, Eddie Guerrero was about to win when Dom entered the ring and tried to push him off the ladder despite being just a child. Regarding this moment, Dom said Eddie was so good as a performer that he was overcome with fear.
"I look up and there's Eddie standing over me just waving his finger. Fear is the only thing in my mind and just cause of his intensity, man. And now, seeing it as a wrestler and being a performer and I'm like, 'He was so good.'"
Dominik Mysterio fired shots at John Cena ahead of Survivor Series
Dominik Mysterio has been feuding with John Cena in recent weeks since the latter won the Intercontinental Championship from the Judgment Day member. Now, the two of them are set to clash one more time at Survivor Series: WarGames 2025.
During an interview with Forbes, Dirty Dom said that he got to compete against John Cena in three out of his last four matches. He also claimed that the 17-time World Champion needed him more for his career.
“He’s never coming back after this. I’m getting three out of his last four. I got him in Boston, TD Garden. I got him in Madison Square Garden, and I’m gonna have to finish it off in Survivor Series at Petco Park. It’s a huge honor, and I’m happy to be part of that journey. Because at the end of the day, if nothing ever gets done by John Cena again – his last feud ever – and three out of his last four matches were against me. It’s a little clear that he needed me more than I needed him.”
It remains to be seen if Dominik Mysterio will be able to regain the Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series: WarGames.
