During his farewell tour, Cena had some stellar matches with some of the biggest stars in the industry. The Franchise Player went toe-to-toe with major stars like Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Logan Paul, and Brock Lesnar.

During an exclusive interview with ESPN, WWE star Drew McIntyre said that John Cena is a WWE legend. He noted that Cena appeared as a major star in an era where the company was lacking blockbuster attractions. The former WWE champion broke character to share that he was sad that he couldn't work with the 17-time World Champion during the retirement tour. However, he was glad to learn from the Cenation Leader and proclaimed him as an all-time great.

"I mean, he's meant everything to our industry. When The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, you know, left WWE, the top superstars of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, were at the end of their career. The company and the world needed somebody to step up into that top position. John stepped up in a massive way for multiple generations. And it's insane to say that he's about to have his last couple of matches. I'm sad I didn't get one of them, but I'm glad I'm part of the roster. I'm glad I got to travel the world. I'm glad I got to learn from John Cena because he is a legend, and he may just be the GOAT."
