El Grande Americano competed in a non-WWE event, with fans cheering him on. Despite being a heel in the Stamford-based promotion, the masked luchador saw AAA fans erupt as he defeated El Hijo del Vikingo on November 28, 2025.Americano and Vikingo had an intense match that saw both competitors securing several nearfalls and submission holds. EGA even managed to make the former AAA Mega Champion tap out; however, the referee was knocked out at the time and didn’t see it happen.Vikingo struck El Grande Americano with a weapon before the referee regained consciousness, but couldn’t pin his opponent. Each time EGA kicked out, the spectators roared in cheers. The match's final moments saw Vikingo trying to unmask El Grande. This prompted Bravo and Rayo to rush to the ring to aid EGA. While one of them distracted the referee with a dispute over the unmasking attempt, the other supplied Americano with a metal plate. Loading his mask, the WWE Superstar landed a flying headbutt on Vikingo to win the match. The three Americanos from WWE immediately rushed to the ramp as the crowd roared and celebrated the victory of EGA.Why do AAA fans love El Grande Americano so much?El Grande Americano made his AAA debut on July 25, 2025, against Octagon Jr. Despite fighting one of the Mexican promotion’s top babyfaces, the fans were cheering for EGA. Moreover, some fans booed Octagon during the match.Although El Grande Americano doesn’t fight fairly and is clearly a heel, fans recognize the investment the wrestler has made in his gimmick. Moreover, Ludwig Kaiser, the WWE Superstar allegedly behind the mask, delivers his promos in impeccable Spanish. He also sang ‘El Cielito Lindo’ before the fans and talked about his love for the colours of the Mexican national flag. This is something big, as Kaiser hails from Germany, and fans love the Alemano learning their language instead of speaking in English like other WWE wrestlers. It would be interesting to see what lies ahead for EGA in both promotions.
