Gunther recently made his return to WWE RAW as part of "The Last Time Is Now" Tournament and was able to find a way past Je'Von Evans. The Ring General has been out of action since SummerSlam, but he has returned to WWE in time to celebrate his 20-year anniversary. He made his debut on November 19th, 2005, in Bern when he was in a tag match alongside SigMasta Rappo, but the duo came up short. The Austrian star was just 18 years old when he wrestled his first match, and went on to wrestle his first singles match in March 2006 when he defeated Sigi The SwissTank. In the years that followed, he wrestled in Japan and WXW before debuting as "Big Daddy Walter" in 2014. In 2016, he debuted the Ring General character, which later went on to form the basis of his WWE gimmick. In November 2018, under the name Walter, he signed an unspecified deal with WWE and was assigned to NXT, debuting in NXT UK, and just three months later, he defeated Pete Dunne to become NXT UK Champion. Gunther debuted on the main roster in 2022Walter was repackaged as Gunther when he made his main roster debut in April 2022 alongside Ludwig Kaiser. He was able to capture the Intercontinental Championship just two months later and has since become one of the most dominant stars on the roster. The former champion and Ludwig Kaiser have seemingly gone their separate ways at the moment, and Gunther is focused on his push towards John Cena's final match, and he could be the one to land the opportunity. It will be interesting to see if it is The Ring General who comes out on top and retires John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event, which is set to take place on December 13.
