Cody Rhodes was on SmackDown tonight to call out Drew McIntyre, who has been a thorn in his side for a while now. However, he was interrupted by a 27-year-old star and nearly got silenced. This week on SmackDown before Saturday Night's Main Event, Cody Rhodes was out to talk about Drew McIntyre, whom he admitted he would fire if he were the boss. McIntyre wasn't in the building, as per SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, so Rhodes' focus was inevitably going to be directed elsewhere, and that's exactly what happened when the young NXT Champion, Oba Femi, interrupted him.Oba Femi, the imposing Nigerian star, has been a dominant force in NXT and is known as "The Ruler" and "The Destroyer." He has reached an elite level as a two-time NXT Champion. He interrupted Cody Rhodes, who probably didn't expect it but should have, considering that they are set to face each other at SNME. Femi came out to a great response and formally introduced himself. He nearly silenced the WWE Champion by letting him know that the future isn’t some distant time - it's here and now. Rhodes made a simple statement and tried to walk away, but Oba Femi held his arm, stopping him in a tense moment. The two men ended the segment lifting their respective Championships, hyping up the dream match at SNME. It'll be interesting to see how things play out, because while Oba Femi has undoubtedly never faced a superstar of Rhodes' caliber, Rhodes has never faced a superstar as unique as Oba Femi. This is likely the first of multiple times they cross paths in the future, as the 27-year-old is pegged as one of those superstars, i.e, in the Bron Breakker territory of future World Champions.
