WWE Superstar CM Punk recently made a massive confession related to his gear for a huge match. The Second City Saint is the current World Heavyweight Champion.
At Survivor Series: WarGames 2023, CM Punk shocked the whole world with his incredible return to World Wrestling Entertainment after almost a decade. The Best in the World's first match back was against Dominik Mysterio at Madison Square Garden during the company's Live Holiday Tour. During the match, Punk wore an all black outfit, which was strange as he usually wears colorful gear for almost all of his bouts.
During his recent interview on WWE's YouTube, CM Punk revealed that he went for the black trunks because he had to borrow them from Cody Rhodes. He mentioned that he got new gear made for his bout against Dominik Mysterio, but he did not like the fit of it, so he had to wear The American Nightmare's trunks from the latter's days in OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) in 2005.
"Classic venue against a spry, agile, young, tough Dominik Mysterio. So, the reason I went with the straightforward black trunks look, these actually might be Cody's trunks. The gear that I had made, and it, now mind you, I haven't wrestled in the WWE in 10 years, so I didn't wanna wear an old pair of gear. Got something new made and didn't like the way it fit, and it was all last-minute, just as my return to the company was very last-minute, so I had to borrow some. I think those are OVW Cody Rhodes trunks from 2005, classic," he said.

CM Punk talked about his WWE return in 2023
In the same interview on World Wrestling Entertainment's YouTube, CM Punk talked about his return to the Stamford-based promotion in 2023. The Second City Saint made fun of his haircut before saying that he had never thought this moment would happen.
"That is me coming back. I don't know what's going on with my hair; I was in flux. That is the 'Oh sh*t, I have to be on television haircut.' That's what that is, we're gonna call it that. But this is me in all my glory, doing again the unthinkable, returning to the WWE after just a little bit of a 10-year hiatus," he said.
CM Punk is currently sitting at the top of the card as the World Heavyweight Champion. It remains to be seen what the Triple H-led creative team has planned for his title reign going forward.
