Chelsea Green Makes Controversial Claim About Husband Matt Cardona

WWE Superstar Chelsea Green and her husband, Matt Cardona (fka Zack Ryder), often speak highly of each other in interviews. The Hot Mess recently made a massive claim about the Indie God.

Matt Cardona was released from his contract with WWE in 2020, ending his 15-year run with the Stamford-based company. Following his departure from the global juggernaut, the former Zack Ryder made a name for himself on the independent circuit. He wrestled for several wrestling promotions and won multiple titles.

While speaking on Gabby AF, Chelsea Green made a massive claim about her husband. The 34-year-old admitted that although she was biased towards him, Cardona was still perhaps the best wrestler to come out of the independent scene. She added that the former WWE United States Champion had an incredible transformation from the character he used to portray in WWE to change everyone's opinion of him and the indies.

"I know that I am biased, but he is by far, quite possibly, the best indie wrestler to ever come out of the indies. If you had asked me six years ago if I ever thought he could cut it on the indies, I'd have said 'not a chance.' He has proved everyone wrong; all they saw him as was this typical babyface, boy band member. He has done a complete 180, changed everyone’s opinion of not only him but the independent scene and how you can make a living off of it. Chelsea Green's claim about Matt Cardona is somewhat controversial. Although the latter has proven his worth on the independent circuit, many might not agree with the take that he is the best wrestler to come out of the indies.

Several popular performers, including CM Punk, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn, also made a name for themselves on the independent scene before achieving tremendous success in WWE.

Chelsea Green and Matt Cardona could cross paths in WWE

Matt Cardona recently showed up in WWE as a TNA star. He also wrestled his first match inside the WWE ring in five years earlier this month. On the October 14 edition of NXT, he wrestled Josh Briggs in singles competition. Unfortunately, he lost the match.

Chelsea Green, on the other hand, has recently formed an alliance with NXT North American Champion Ethan Page. The duo is all set to challenge La Hiedra and Mr. Iguana for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship at Alianzas Tour this Sunday.

While the inaugural WWE Women's United States Champion has been a regular fixture of NXT for some time, Matt Cardona is also expected to wrestle more matches on WWE's developmental brand, representing TNA Wrestling. The wrestling promotion could have Green and Cardona share the spotlight during the shows.

Chelsea Green has previously expressed her desire to team up with Matt Cardona. It will be intriguing to see if the real-life couple crosses paths and competes in a mixed tag team match in the future.
