This week’s episode of WWE NXT saw Booker T get into a tough spot. The two-time Hall of Famer got taken out while doing commentary during the main event of the night by Oba Femi as he defended the NXT Championship against Je’Von Evans.Evans and Femi had an intense match that saw both wrestlers securing several nearfalls. At one point, the fight spilled to the ringside, and The Ruler launched himself over the table of the commentators. While he missed Evans, he managed to get Booker T to stand from his chair. The veteran evaded the 310-pound wrestler from crashing into him, but landed on the floor.Despite the delay of a few seconds, the former five-time WWE World Champion didn’t stop the commentary. The Young OG almost dethroned The Ruler. However, Ricky Saints ruined his winning moment by pulling the referee out of the ring before he could count to three while Femi was pinned.Evans dived to take Saints out, allowing Oba Femi to recover. The Ruler didn’t waste his second chance at the match and landed a Power Bomb on Evans to retain the NXT Championship. He will now go to the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025, to face Cody Rhodes.Booker T on John Cena facing Gunther in his final matchBooker T talked about John Cena’s retirement match against Gunther at the upcoming SNME on his Hall of Fame podcast. He noted that The Ring General will prove to be the ultimate test for the record-setting 17-time WWE world champion.Booker T noted that there’s not much difference between the actual impact of Gunther’s moves and how they appear on the camera. He even said that the Austrian is very close to Brock Lesnar in this regard.Interestingly, The Ring General made an appearance on this week’s episode of RAW, stating that he won’t just defeat John Cena, but make him give up in the ring. The two-time World Heavyweight Champion is a submission expert and makes his opponents tap or pass out with the Sleeper Hold.Gunther said that he will make sure Cena doesn’t live up to his motto of ‘Never Give Up’ at SNME. It would be interesting to see if he would be able to make The Franchise Player submit in the final match of his career.
