Andrade addresses rumors of his ex-wife Charlotte Flair getting him fired from WWE

Andrade's future in the wrestling business is currently uncertain as he's involved in a legal tussle with WWE regarding his non-compete clause. Amid this, the former US Champion has quashed the rumors of his ex-wife, Charlotte Flair, having any role in his departure from the Stamford-based promotion.

Andrade was suddenly fired in September this year, with many rumors suggesting that it was due to his violation of the company's wellness policy multiple times. Just over two weeks later, he popped up in AEW and joined the villainous Don Callis Family. However, the Mexican performer was later pulled from TV as WWE sent him a legal notice for ignoring his non-compete clause.

Amid his hiatus, as he deals with the legal situation, Andrade appeared on the El Ring podcast, where he addressed rumors of his ex-wife Charlotte Flair getting him fired from WWE. The former US Champion made it clear that Charlotte had nothing to do with it and urged people not to spread baseless rumors.

“We started having some problems, and then came the divorce. People ask if she had something to do with my leaving WWE — she didn’t. She never went to management to get me fired or anything like that. I respect her a lot. She was an incredible woman, a great wife. I wish her the best.” (H/T - Ringside News)

Elsewhere in the same interview, Andrade said that the breakdown of his marriage with Charlotte Flair and their divorce last year was his fault. He added that his ex-wife was an "amazing woman" and that he had nothing bad to say about her.

“And to the fans who keep bringing up Charlotte… in this case I admit, as a person and as a man, that I was the one who failed in the relationship. I can’t talk badly about her. She’s an amazing woman and I wish her the best — she knows that.”

As for his in-ring future, one can only wait and watch what's next, as Andrade has revealed his lawyers are trying to resolve the matter at the earliest.
