Styles and Lee won the World Tag Team Championships in October by defeating the Judgment Day duo of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. This marked the beginning of their first reign together as a tag team.

On X, Woods of The New Day accused Styles of illegally using the steel steps during their match. He also called out RAW General Manager Adam Pearce for refusing to take action against the champions.

"You used the steel steps illegally to incapacitate me then attacked @TrueKofi with what the competent internet says is stolen tag team manuver! And @ScrapDaddyAP says and does nothing about it. WE DESERVE JUSTICE!" wrote Woods.

AJ Styles is ready to retire on his own terms

AJ Styles has said that he is ready to retire from Professional Wrestling on his own terms. The former WWE Champion said that he wouldn't let an injury force him to retire. Rather, it would be his own decision.

Speaking on No-Contest Wrestling, Styles said:

"Well, I'm hiding it well. I'm hiding it well. I'm a blessed man, there's no doubt about that. I've been hurt, you know, for like two years in a row. I got hurt, broke my foot, and then I freaking had a Lisfranc injury which almost ended my career. I thought it was over. But I was able to fight back, and be able to get back in the ring, and finish on my feet. That's important to me. I'm the one who gets to decide when I'm finished. Not an injury. Not someone else. I get to decide that."

Styles has confirmed he plans to retire in 2026.
