Fans are currently anticipating, and at the same time, dreading the fact that John Cena is set to officially bid goodbye to WWE and wrestling next month. Amid this, another star, albeit not as big in stature, has announced her plans to quit the business. Nixon Newell has confirmed that 2026 will be her last year in wrestling.Newell, previously known as Tegan Nox, had two stints with WWE. The first from 2017 to 2021, and later from December 2022 to January 2024. She also made her presence felt in AEW recently. However, the 30-year-old star's time with the company might have already ended following reports of her and her partner, Miranda Alize, walking out of a Collision taping due to booking issues.Nixon Newell recently conducted a Twitch Stream, where she addressed the situation with AEW and even discussed what lay ahead for her. Newell announced that she had entered her final year in wrestling and that she wanted to have fun before officially calling it quits on her short-lived in-ring career.“I told you guys at the beginning of the year, this is my last two years in wrestling. We’re already a year gone, so I want to have fun this last year," Newell said.Nixon Newell is open to a WWE returnEarlier this year, in a chat with Busted Open Radio, Newell stated that she would be willing to return to her former stomping ground if they came knocking on her door. She also explained that WWE wasn't the only desirable option, though, as there were several other companies that had piqued her curiosity."Possibly, the door I hope is always open, but right now, I wanna wrestle everywhere and anywhere. Yes, WWE is cool and I was lucky enough and fortunate enough to have done it twice. But, there’s so many incredible companies out there right now, like TNA, like AEW, like MLW. GCW."Since Nixon Newell seems firm about hanging up her wrestling boots, it's unlikely the global juggernaut would bring her back under such circumstances.
