RAW will emanate from the iconic Madison Square Garden next week, and Adam Pearce announced the first major blockbuster title match that will happen as a relative rookie faces a legend.

This week backstage on RAW, Adam Pearce was spotted talking to the recently-crowned World Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee. They were trying to come up with a new tag team name, but couldn't agree on one, so Pearce told them to come back later. He then met Maxxine Dupri, who recently defeated Becky Lynch to stake her claim to the Women's Intercontinental Championship.

Adam Pearce informed Maxxine Dupri that, since she felt she was ready, he appreciated her mindset and booked an Intercontinental Championship match between her and Becky Lynch for next week in the iconic Madison Square Garden.

Following this, Becky Lynch would immediately remind Maxxine Dupri who she was dealing with as she hit her with a sucker punch. She took a verbal dig at her to try to get in her head, and it seemed clear that the psychological warfare was done to leave a dent in Maxxine's head.

For Maxxine, it has always been a question of potential, and she has shown occasional flashes of brilliance. Still, there have been accusations that she hasn't progressed very quickly, which some attribute to the fact that she hasn't been given too much of an opportunity to compete.

Like Braun Strowman years ago, Maxxine was thrust into a situation where she had practically zero wrestling experience. For her, it was all about learning on the job, and it has now been a few years for her on the main roster.

This is the biggest opportunity she has had yet, and one can't help but go back to the segment where Becky Lynch told Maxxine Dupri ahead of her first title shot to "remind everybody" why it won't be her last.
