John Cena is scheduled to have his final match on December 13, at Saturday Night's Main Event against Gunther. A 59-year-old female WWE star has commented on what it's like to be part of Cena's retirement match.
After announcing his retirement last year at Money in the Bank, Cena is set to retire following a memorable farewell tour. He turned heel, became The Never Seen 17, and had some of the best matches of his legendary career. At SNME, the special guest ring announcer will be Lilian Garcia.
The legend spoke to Scott Fishman of TV Insider and discussed her feelings about being part of John Cena's final match and event as an active in-ring performer.
"I cannot wait. When I found out his final match was going to be during Saturday Night’s Main Event, I was like, 'That’s the show I announce!' It’s actually kind of fitting because I announced him even before he was John Cena. He was The Prototype. It was a live event. I'll never forget it," Garcia said.

The legendary ring announcer added that she was mesmerized by Cena's presence as The Prototype. She knew Cena had the look, and she felt proud to be part of his journey from working live events to announcing his name at the biggest shows like SummerSlam and WrestleMania.
John Cena's new role after WWE retirement
While John Cena's career as a WWE Superstar comes to an end, he already has a new role with the company. The GOAT told Tom Rinaldi in a sit-down interview after Monday's episode of RAW that he signed a five-year deal to become a WWE ambassador.
"I will be an ambassador to WWE. I'm already signed on for another five years. Please, as long as you can do it. I would like to be in this family as an employee, as a contributing part for as long as I can," Cena said. [H/T: ClutchPoints]
In addition to his retirement match, Cena ensured that SNME would feature the top stars of WWE going up against the future superstars of the company.
