WWE is headed to its final premium event, and one major name is tipped to become the next 'Legend Killer' following the event. The name in question is Gunther.

Around two decades ago, Randy Orton infamously became The Legend Killer when the rising star targeted veterans and Hall of Famers in the industry. The spree didn't last long as he eventually met his match, but The Viper continued the moniker for a while and even used it as one of his nicknames in the Stamford-based promotion.

Speaking on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, Dutch Mantell thinks that the former NXT UK, Intercontinental, and World Heavyweight Champion is set to become the next 'Legend Killer' when he defeats John Cena. Moreover, Mantell stated he saw it coming the day The Ring General conquered Goldberg in his retirement match.

"Oh yeah, I think so. Because once he won over Goldberg, he's now a legend killer. That's what he is," Mantell said.

When will Randy Orton return to WWE SmackDown?

Randy Orton has been with the company for over two decades and has gone from a rookie in the industry to a wrestling legend. Lately, The Viper is an established babyface on the blue brand and often takes on heels on the brand. Recently, he was in a feud with Drew McIntyre and assisted Jelly Roll in his first-ever wrestling match.

After the two lost, Orton continued his feud with McIntyre until Cody Rhodes returned to WWE SmackDown. The seeds were planted for an eventual showdown between both Legacy members, but the third-generation star went on a hiatus from the weekly product.

Recently, the company revealed the poster for SmackDown in Saudi Arabia ahead of WWE Royal Rumble 2026. In the poster, Randy Orton was one of the faces, and it was confirmed that The Viper will be on the road for the event, and his return to the company will take place before the event.
