WWE has officially added a popular star to the roster after several weeks of speculation. The 37-year-old has already wrestled multiple matches for the Stamford-based promotion.

The name in question is former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry. Last month, Fightful Select reported that The King of the Entrances had inked a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment. Although he featured regularly on NXT, the global juggernaut did not make any official announcement.

However, ahead of the December 2 edition of NXT, WWE has officially added Joe Hendry to its developmental brand's roster. He is likely to continue with his partnership with Thea Hail on NXT. The duo is engaged in a rivalry with Chelsea Green and Ethan Page and even challenged them for the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Title at Gold Rush.

WWE Hall of Famer proposes a massive match for Joe Hendry

WWE icon John Cena is slated to wrestle his retirement match later this month at Saturday Night's Main Event. Speaking on TMZ's Inside the Ring podcast, wrestling legend Mark Henry proposed an intriguing scenario in which The Cenation Leader performs double duty at the show.

The 54-year-old noted that he would be satisfied with John Cena going up against the speculated Last Time is Now Tournament winner, Gunther. However, the veteran added an interesting twist, saying he would love for Joe Hendry to enter the squared circle after that and challenge the Never Seen 17 for a match.

"Even if it was Gunther, I would be satisfied, but then I still would want dessert. I would want Joe Hendry to come out and say, I didn’t make it in the tournament but before you leave, I want you to allow me the privilege of being in the ring with you. When Joe Hendry gets in the ring, you would thing that John would be like, ‘Listen man, I’m done, I just had my last match.’ John is a soldier and I would have Joe Hendry say, ‘John, I don’t want to fight you. I wanted to have a match with you because I wanted to do this’ and have Joe Hendry lay down on his back and tell John Cena to cover me so I had a match with you and you beat me on my record," Henry said.

On the December 5 edition of SmackDown, Gunther and LA Knight will go at it for an opportunity to wrestle John Cena at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Although highly unlikely, it will be interesting to see if Mark Henry's dream booking scenario comes true.
