We're approaching the end of the year-long retirement tour of 3-time World Heavyweight Champion and 14-time WWE Champion, John Cena.
His father recently shared his thoughts on The Never Seen 17's journey and whether his son will ever step back inside the squared circle after 2025.
John Cena is gearing up to face Gunther at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C, on December 13.
The two men will reportedly open the show, giving The Cenation Leader enough time for post-match festivities.
John Cena's last match opening SNME - Check out Why!
Ahead of the highly anticipated event, John Cena Sr. spoke to Chris Sanders on his Best for Business podcast.
The former wrestling commentator explained the valuable life lesson that his son taught to everyone throughout his career.
"I’ve experienced a young man start from the beginning, from the very, very bottom. And if anybody doesn’t believe hustle, loyalty, and respect, if he hasn't proven to you as an individual that you yourself, hustling and believing in yourself, being loyal to yourself and those around you, and giving respect to those close to you and around you and yourself, you can accomplish anything."
Cena Sr. said he couldn't be prouder of his son and the things he accomplished outside the wrestling world, including his record 650+ wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
"I’ve seen him be at his high, I’ve seen him be at his low. You know, they were gonna let him go. So, it's like, holy mackerel, he's back. I just take a look at this and say I am so proud of my son for what he’s accomplished in the business, and what he’s accomplished with Make-A-Wish... It wasn’t all about ‘Hey, look at me, I’m the champ.’ He never forgot where he came from, and he never forgot who he was, and that’s important. He was always there to help, and he’s still there to help. I think he’ll always be there to help, but do I ever think you’ll see John Cena in the ring again ever? Never."

John Cena Sr. is unhappy with his son's final WWE opponent
Speaking on the All Axxess podcast, John Cena Sr. aired his frustration over Gunther being John Cena's final WWE opponent.
He said the Ring General does not need the rub and that he wasn't a fan of wrestlers passing the proverbial torch on their way out.
"Myself, personally, Gunther does not need the rub. By the way, I’m not a fan of on the way out you’ve got to push somebody over the top. You’re supposed to pass quote unquote the torch. I don’t know whether that’s written anywhere in professional wrestling," he said.
Gunther has already retired WWE icon Goldberg, and he looks dead set on making John Cena tap out for the first time in many years.
