WrestleMania 41 had several shocks and surprises for WWE fans, with some extremely memorable moments taking place at the Show of Shows. The main event of both nights saw some surprising interventions that played a part in the eventual result of the main event.
Night one ended with Paul Heyman turning on both CM Punk and Roman Reigns and joining forces with Seth Rollins. While this decision was met positively by almost all fans, the ending to Night 2 didn't sit well with most of them. John Cena broke Ric Flair's record of 16 World Title reigns at the event when he defeated Cody Rhodes to win his 17th World Championship.
However, he did so following a controversial interference from Travis Scott. Not just the fans, even John Cena Sr., the father of the 26-time WWE Champion, criticized the ending, stating that even having him come out to help Cena would've made for a better ending to the match.
"They'd have been better off to have me come down to the ring and smash him to win that match. It probably would have, I'm not going, hey, you know, throw the old man in the ring, but it probably would have been a better take because we'd have blown The Rock off and we'd have taken care of the issue that was there. I feel bad because look at Cody Rhodes and The Rock, that story still hasn't been finished." Cena Sr. said.

John Cena turned heel at the start of his WWE retirement tour. While the moment when he turned to the dark side went extremely viral, the eventual heel run didn't prove to be that great. He turned face again at SummerSlam 2025, where he dropped the title back to Cody Rhodes.
