It's only a matter of time before WWE fans witness the final premium live event of the year, Survivor Series: WarGames 2025. As the event inches closer, some videos from Petco Park are going viral on social media, showing that the company has been testing the event's stage and titantron.

Surprisingly, a video showing that the Stamford-based promotion has been testing Stone Cold Steve Austin's titantron and music has caught fans' attention. Some fans and pundits have been speculating that WWE may have spoiled the surprise return of The Texas Rattlesnake at Survivor Series.

It seems like the company was testing the screens instead of planning Austin’s entrance. Hence, he might not appear on Saturday's show. Even if Stone Cold returns to World Wrestling Entertainment, it would be a one-off appearance to interact with the fans in San Diego instead of entering a storyline.

Austin has held 13 titles in the promotion, including the WWE, Intercontinental, and Tag Team titles. He seemingly retired from in-ring action following his WrestleMania 38 match against Kevin Owens.

That said, there is no telling if the legend will actually show up in San Diego at Survivor Series.

Stone Cold was set to return at WWE WrestleMania 40

At The Showcase of the Immortals in 2024, The Texas Rattlesnake was rumored to return during the main event of Night Two. He was expected to counter The Rock, who was a major thorn in Cody Rhodes' way of capturing the Undisputed WWE Championship from Roman Reigns.

The 'Mania main event saw run-ins from John Cena and The Final Boss. Given that Austin was arguably Rocky's biggest rival during the Attitude Era, his potential return would have made sense.

Things seemingly didn't work out, and The Undertaker appeared and chokeslammed Rocky. In an earlier interview on Unlikely, Stone Cold revealed the real reason why he missed 'Mania.

"It was close, and they certainly reached out to me. We had conversations, but my wife and I had some things going on, and I didn't need to go to Philly at that time."

That said, it will be interesting to see whether Steve Austin returns anytime soon.
