WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, was booed heavily after he came out to the ring at the end of Saturday Night's Main Event XLII, following John Cena's retirement match. He has also been heavily criticized online for his booking decisions, and a few of them have left fans frustrated and baffled. While the product peaked in quality around WrestleMania 40, things have gone downhill since then. Around Halloween, SmackDown aired its lowest-rated episodes of all time, and things just haven't felt as engaging in WWE recently. A significant amount of the disconnect can be attributed to the company's booking decisions. And on that note, here are five things that Triple H has gotten wrong in WWE recently.5. Repetitive shows and bookingIt is incredibly difficult to remember an episode of RAW that did not end with The Vision standing tall over a couple of babyfaces in recent memory. Almost every episode of the red brand seems to revolve around Paul Heyman's faction getting the upper hand over their rivals, without much progression in the storyline. While Triple H has made it clear that he prefers slowly building up storylines, the main event scene on both brands feels repetitive and slow to a fault.4. Austin Theory being the masked man at Survivor SeriesAustin Theory was on the verge of turning on Grayson Waller before he mysteriously disappeared from television. While A-Town Down Under never got the breakup that was teased, it seemed like a misstep to have him return as the masked man at Survivor Series and reveal it two weeks later. The reveal felt anti-climactic, and it should have been done at Survivor Series itself, since Theory didn't have a lot of momentum on his side before leaving anyway.3. Jade Cargill not having any credible rivalsSince dethroning Tiffany Stratton to win the Women's Championship, Jade Cargill has been noticeably directionless. While she is currently feuding with Michin and B-Fab, it seems like filler content, with little credibility in favor of the challenger.Major stars like Charlotte, Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and even Lash Legend are involved in the tag team division. As a result, Cargill's reign has felt quite meaningless, with the champion being booked in random segments every week.2. Having Drew McIntyre lose repeatedly to Cody Rhodes for the WWE TitleDrew McIntyre first lost to Cody Rhodes at Wrestlepalooza despite the latter not being at a 100%. Rhodes then retained the title at Saturday Night's Main Event by using the championship to his advantage behind the referee's back, even though the title would have changed hands via disqualification. In the process, Triple H has completely taken the wind out of McIntyre's sails. After the Scottish Warrior's interference in Rhodes' match against Oba Femi this past weekend, it seems like a third clash between them is in the works. If McIntyre loses to Cody Rhodes again, it would completely destroy his credibility as a main-event talent after losing so many feuds over the past year. This would only aggravate the mistake Triple H has made by not having McIntyre dethrone Cody for the WWE Championship in his second attempt.1. Making John Cena tap out in his final matchFans were furious after John Cena tapped out to Gunther in his final WWE match. The 17-time world champion has embodied the spirit of never giving up for the better part of his WWE career, inspiring thousands of people worldwide. However, Cena tapping out for the first time in over 20 years felt like a slap in the face to the fans who have been inspired by his values.Sure, it has helped Gunther generate an incredible amount of heat. But, it has also left a sour taste in the mouths of the fans, who had hoped to see their hero at least fight till the end, if not retire with a win.Making John Cena tap out felt even more awkward than his heel run earlier this year, and it is by far the biggest mistake Triple H has made over the past few months.
