That said, while The GOAT finally became a Grand Slam Champion in WWE by winning the IC Title last month, there are several other things he hasn't accomplished in his illustrious career.

With John Cena hanging up his boots next week, here are five things he will never achieve in WWE.

10 Shocking Injuries That Destroyed WWE Stars - Watch Here!

#5. Winning the Universal Championship

The Universal Championship was introduced as the world title for RAW after the brand split in 2016. Finn Balor won the tournament to become the inaugural champion. The title was retired in 2024 after Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

While John Cena has challenged for the title against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021, he has never won it. With the championship no longer active, Cena will retire without ever winning the Universal Title.

#4. Never competed in the WarGames Match

Since 2022, the WarGames Match has become the main attraction of the annual Survivor Series Premium Live Event. It is a five-on-five bout that takes place in two rings surrounded by a steel structure.

While fans wanted John Cena to compete in the Men's WarGames Match this year, the Triple H-led creative team chose a different route. Therefore, fans will unfortunately never see The GOAT compete in the five-on-five match in his career.

#3. The Crown Jewel Championship

Last year, WWE introduced the Crown Jewel Championship for both men and women. World champions from both brands face each other in a singles match, with the winner receiving the Crown Jewel Title.

John Cena could have competed for the title this year, but he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, who went on to face the World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, at Crown Jewel: Perth.

#2. The King of the Ring Tournament

The King of the Ring Tournament has been a longstanding tradition in WWE. Initially, the winner of the tournament was only crowned "the King of the Ring." Many stars went on to incorporate the moniker into their character. Since last year, the winner of the tournament has also gotten a world title opportunity.

Interestingly, Cena has never competed in the King of the Ring Tournament and will have to retire without ever doing so.

#1. John Cena has never defeated Roman Reigns in singles competition

John Cena and Roman Reigns have crossed paths multiple times. However, despite being two of the biggest WWE Superstars of all time, their rivalry has surprisingly been one-sided.

The OTC has been undefeated against The Last Real Champion in singles competition with eleven victories in both televised and non-televised matches. The GOAT will retire without ever beating Reigns one-on-one.
