Over the years, fans have seen many WWE Superstars with unique gimmicks. After all, it is what helped them stand out among a large roster. While in-ring abilities have their own importance, the character work often becomes the differentiating factor.
Certain gimmicks played by some major stars have become timeless, and several current superstars could take inspiration from them and create their own version. In this listicle, we will look at five memorable WWE gimmicks and stars who could bring them back:
#5. Gunther could revive Randy Orton's Legend Killer character
In the early stages of Randy Orton's career, he adopted the character of an arrogant, disrespectful youngster who targeted established WWE legends and Hall of Famers, known as The Legend Killer.

Gunther has an opportunity to revive this character today. While he isn't a youngster, he is certainly disrespectful and arrogant, and has also been at odds with multiple legends. First, he retired Goldberg in July, and then made John Cena tap out in his final in-ring outing at Saturday Night's Main Event XLII.
The Ring General has enough reasons to call himself The Legend Killer if he wants to.
#4. Carmelo Hayes shares similarities with early John Cena
During his initial days on NXT, Carmelo Hayes recreated John Cena's "Ruthless Aggression" debut. Just as Cena had stepped up to Kurt Angle, Melo confronted Adam Cole and immediately faced him in a match.
Hayes has come a long way since then, but despite his undeniable charisma and impressive in-ring skills, he has failed to make a mark on the main roster. Just like how The Cenation Leader found a fitting character in Doctor of Thuganomics after failing initially, Melo could follow a similar path.
With John Cena retired, he could give his blessing to Carmelo Hayes to introduce his version of the Doctor of Thuganomics character.
#3. Drew McIntyre could be the new Apex Predator
After evolving from The Legend Killer, Randy Orton became more methodical and cunning, traits Drew McIntyre possesses in abundance. Orton, as The Apex Predator, is known to aggressively strike his opponents when they least expect it.
Earlier this year, The Scottish Warrior specifically targeted the members of the OG Bloodline, taking them out one by one. While the angle was dropped before it could progress, fans were excited to see McIntyre acting methodically and aggressively. The Scotsman could be the perfect successor to Orton's character of The Apex Predator.
#2. Cody Rhodes could adopt Triple H's King of Kings character in WWE
Cody Rhodes has cited Triple H as his role model in wrestling. The WWE CCO has played several iconic characters before transitioning to an executive role. If Rhodes wants to follow in Hunter's footsteps, the character he could take inspiration from is the King of Kings.
When AEW Dynamite debuted on television, The American Nightmare infamously destroyed Triple H's throne, sending shockwaves throughout the wrestling world. Now that Rhodes has returned to WWE, it would be fitting if he paid homage to The Game on-screen.
The Undisputed WWE Champion could slowly embrace his dark side and become more self-absorbed. During this potential transition, he could start calling himself the King of Kings.
#1. Bron Breakker: The Next Big Thing
When Brock Lesnar debuted in WWE in 2002, he was given the nickname of The Next Big Thing. After arriving, it didn't take long for Brock to take over the promotion and sit at the top of it as the world champion.
Lesnar was strong, intense, and freakishly athletic for his size. If there's someone from the current roster who matches these attributes, it's Bron Breakker. Moreover, he also has Paul Heyman in his corner.
Before this year's SummerSlam, Heyman even called Breakker The Next Big Thing. Therefore, it would be fitting if the young star adopted Lesnar's early character.
