Since announcing his retirement at Money in the Bank 2024, Cena has had a number of incredible matches on his retirement tour. He has faced his biggest rivals in Randy Orton, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, and AJ Styles, and has also shared great storylines with Cody Rhodes and Dominik Mysterio.

Ahead of his last dance in the ring, many WWE stars have shared their appreciation for him online. However, there are some that will likely not be making an appearance at the show in Washington, DC. In this listicle, we will look at four such stars that will likely miss John Cena's final show.

4. Seth Rollins

Rollins was booted from The Vision after Crown Jewel 2025 and has since been recovering from a shoulder injury. It is unlikely that he will be returning to the promotion anytime soon and will most likely miss Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend as he continues to rehab his injury.

Despite fan interest, Seth Rollins didn't face Cena in a singles match this year. And now, it seems unlikely that they will ever be able to do so.

3. Randy Orton

Randy Orton and John Cena battled for the Undisputed WWE Championship in St. Louis at Backlash this year. The Franchise Player retained his title against his biggest rival at the event.

Orton has mysteriously been away from programming for the last two months. The legend is not injured, but is likely not a part of the company's creative plans at this time. As things stand, The Viper is not expected to compete or make an appearance at Saturday Night's Main Event.

He was recently spotted in Saudi Arabia on vacation with his family. As a result, it seems unlikely that he will make it back in time.

2. Brock Lesnar

The Beast Incarnate returned to WWE for the first time in two years at SummerSlam 2025. Immediately after his comeback, he rekindled his rivalry with John Cena by taking him out with an F-5.

Lesnar then destroyed Cena at Wrestlepalooza in a singles match. He is not expected to make another WWE appearance till the Royal Rumble, and might not be in attendance for his rival's last match.

1. Roman Reigns

John Cena and Roman Reigns had a thrilling showdown for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2021. The Tribal Chief emerged victorious over the Franchise Player, helping him establish a lot of credibility during his early days as the OTC.

Reigns and Cena shared the ring during the Royal Rumble Match this year, but didn't have a match during the 17-time world champion's heel turn. Reigns, like Lesnar, is also not set to appear in WWE till the Royal Rumble after the Men's WarGames Match last weekend.

Will Cena be able to end his career with a win, or will Gunther retire another legend in 2025? Fans will have to tune in to Saturday Night's Main Event to find out.
