Welcome to another edition of WWE rumors we hope are true, and we hope aren't. The Stamford-based promotion is heading toward the Royal Rumble 2026, and we are just inches away from Saturday Night's Main Event, where John Cena will compete in his final match.

In this article, we will look at four WWE rumors we hope are true, and two we hope aren't.

#6. We hope true: Cody Rhodes' next challenger revealed

John Cena's last match opening SNME - Check out Why!

Over the past few months, Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes have been involved in a heated feud. They locked horns at the previous SNME show, with The American Nightmare emerging victorious.

However, McIntyre is not done yet and wants another match against the Prodigal Son. Reports indicate that a match between them is about to take place, and McIntyre will be the next challenger of the Undisputed Champion.

We hope the rumour is true, as WWE has been dragging out their feud for months, and now it's finally time to contest them in a rematch.

#5. Hope true: LA Knight's WWE future

LA Knight suffered a beatdown at the hands of The Vision on RAW this week. Bronson Reed executed a Tsunami on The Megastar on the roof of the car. The show's ending sparked concern among the audience about the future of Knight in WWE.

Meanwhile, the latest reports reveal that the former US Champion is expected to have a better year in the upcoming months. Also, WWE reportedly has plans to push him as one of the top babyface stars on the main roster.

We hope the rumour is true, as fans of Knight are eagerly waiting for his push in the company.

#4. Hope not true: John Cena's match will kick off SNME

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event will be the final show of The Franchise Player in the ring when he faces Gunther. Despite being Cena's last match, the Last Real Champion is expected to kick off the show.

Sources revealed that there is no runtime for SNME, and with Gunther vs. Cena opening the show, the veteran will get as much time as he wants. We hope the rumor isn't true, as it would be the last time we see Cena in the ring, and no one really wants to see him kick off the special show instead of main-eventing.

#3. Hope true: AJ Lee to compete in a major match

AJ Lee competed in the Women's WarGames match this year and helped her team secure victory. As of now, the former Divas Champion is absent from the company. In a recent report, Wrestlevotes disclosed that Lee is set to compete in the Women's Royal Rumble match next year in Saudi Arabia.

We hope the rumor is true, since it would be the first time the veteran star will compete in this gimmick match. Also, it will add more star power to the women's over-the-top-rope contest.

#2. Hope true: Major Hall of Famer is returning to SNME

WWE SNME is sure to be a major event, as it will feature Cena's final match. Meanwhile, it seems the show will be star-studded, with a major presence as Jesse Ventura is expected to make his presence felt.

The Hall of Famer didn't appear at the last SNME show, but this time, he's reported to be part of Cena's send-off show. We hope the rumor is true, as Jesse's presence at the special event would be a great show of respect for The Franchise Player.

#1. Hope not true: Multiple mystery attackers following RAW

Ad

Mystery attacker made his presence felt twice on Monday Night RAW. First, he attacked Rey Mysterio and later attacked LA Knight. Following this, reports revealed that the mystery attacker could be two different people, and the name of Montez Ford also emerged in the discussion.

We hope the rumor isn't true, as it would turn the storyline into something similar to the recent El Grande Americano. Instead, WWE can simply reveal Austin Theory as the attacker and add him to The Vision faction.
