WWE Survivor Series: WarGames will see John Cena defend the Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio. Stephanie Vaquer puts the Women's World Championship on the line against former friend Nikki Bella.

Team Punk - Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and the Usos - faces Team Vision - Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul - in WarGames.

AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss clash with the Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, and Lash Legend.

With a lot on the line this weekend, WWE should not do the next four things at Survivor Series: WarGames.

#4. No one returns or debuts at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

One staple of some of the biggest moments in recent history involves big returns or debuts at big PLEs. AJ Styles joined WWE at the 2016 Royal Rumble.

CM Punk and Randy Orton returned at WarGames in 2023. Cody Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38. A star who isn't competing in WarGames could join the Vision, like Tony D'Angelo or Austin Theory.

Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre are one-time rentals. Brie Bella could come back to try and help Nikki Bella win. Paige could return since her friend and rival, AJ Lee, is competing. The event shouldn't come and go without a significant return or debut.

#3. Nikki Bella wins the Women's World Title

Stephanie Vaquer has had one of the greatest years in WWE history in 2025. She won the NXT Women's North American, NXT Women's, and Women's World titles all in the same year.

Once Naomi relinquished the title due to her pregnancy, La Primera faced IYO SKY for the vacant belt. That was in September at Wrestlepalooza. Nikki Bella can serve a role in the current landscape of the women's division.

However, she shouldn't be beating someone of the caliber of Vaquer. Vaquer retained the title in her only other defense, a victory over Raquel Rodriguez. She shouldn't lose it in her second official defense.

#2. WarGames comes and goes without any heel turns

The best high-stakes matches include great action and great storytelling. Factor in a big heel or face change, and the match can join some of the greatest moments in WWE history.

Both WarGames contests have potential for heel turns. The problem is that WWE is probably reluctant to turn a few people. Jey Uso has teased a heel turn over the last few months. Roman Reigns still thinks the world revolves around him.

Cody Rhodes may be the company's top hero, but he's cheated against Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens after ignoring their reasoning.

Charlotte Flair or Alexa Bliss could turn on their teams. If both WarGames contests go down without a big heel turn, it will be another missed opportunity from bookers this year.

#1. Both face teams win WarGames

Ad

Since Triple H brought WarGames to the main roster as part of Survivor Series, the hero squads have won five of six matches. The heroes have won all three women's matches.

The good guys won WarGames in both 2023 and 2024, with the heel OG Bloodline team winning in 2022. With how both matches were built, it feels like officials will use tension between some faces to make fans think they won't win.

That intensifies since the heels won the advantage on RAW. On paper, a team with Reigns, Punk, and Rhodes shouldn't lose, but the Vision needs the win much more.

If they lose, they turn into another group that talks a lot but can't win big matches. Team Ripley will probably win WarGames. WWE must resist the urge to have both face teams win.
