Gunther opened WWE RAW by addressing his match with John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event. He said he'd relish ending the legend's career. Logan Paul bullied Rey Mysterio again, which brought LA Knight to Mysterio's defense. The masked attacker stomped both Mysterio and The Megastar during their matches. Bron Breakker promised to obliterate CM Punk on January 5.AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defeated The War Raiders, but saw a potential future when confronted by both The New Day and The Usos. IYO SKY bested Kairi Sane while Roxanne Perez beat Lyra Valkyria, thanks to Liv Morgan's help. With days until Cena's final match this weekend, WWE made the next four mistakes on the RAW before Saturday Night's Main Event.#4. Booking a current champion to lose on both SmackDown and RAWKairi Sane lost to Alexa Bliss on SmackDown and then to IYO SKY on RAW. The main reason seems to be to allow both face duos to challenge The Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. It was obvious from what happened on programming over the last two weeks, but booking one of those women to lose her last two matches is a mistake.Champions are supposed to be somewhat protected, but Sane has been a punching bag for everyone. If this is just to hand the titles to Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY, it will be even more of a massive misstep.#3. Where's the World Heavyweight Champion?Despite not being pinned and walking out of the cage at Survivor Series, CM Punk has missed the last two episodes of RAW after WarGames.Bron Breakker received a shot at the World Heavyweight Title by virtue of pinning Punk in the match. This week, his absence and the absence of any other heroes on RAW left LA Knight to fall on the sword for the entire babyface roster.Cody Rhodes was in the match, but he is always on SmackDown. It's not like Punk is a part-timer like Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar. He's the red brand's champion. He can still appear even if Breakker is cutting promos on him.#2. Didn't Stephanie Vaquer already beat Raquel Rodriguez and Nikki Bella? View this post on Instagram Instagram PostStephanie Vaquer's first two title defenses were against Raquel Rodriguez and Nikki Bella. Her first PLE defense came against Bella at Survivor Series: WarGames. The Women's World Champion said she's ready for anyone, and after last week's confrontation with Liv Morgan, it felt like she'd confront La Primera this week in the ring.Instead, fans literally got two stars that Vaquer already defeated. Rodriguez said, "I'll be there," but that could mean in Morgan's corner. It was also likely to create tension within The Judgment Day.Regardless, it's disappointing to have the same two people challenging a current champion. Vaquer needs signature wins over stars other than those two.#1. John Cena doesn't appear on the last RAW before his final matchOne huge issue with John Cena's Retirement Tour has been its scheduling. He failed to appear on several important episodes of programming leading up to major title defenses or PLE matches. He didn't show up ahead of his Wrestlepalooza match with Brock Lesnar, or before he faced Dominik Mysterio at WarGames. That trend continued on the go-home RAW before his final match.Whatever the case was, having John Cena show up on the final show before his last official match is a mind-boggling mistake. They could have added one more date instead of worrying about Madison Square Garden or another city. The fact that both he and Punk missed the show was a curious decision from officials. Having a pre-taped sit-down interview after RAW isn't the same as appearing before a live crowd of fans.
