WWE's final premium live event of 2025 rolled into San Diego, California, last night, and it seems that the overall opinion of the show was that it was underwhelming.

John Cena wrestled his final PLE match, while Stephanie Vaquer defended her Women's World Championship. The WarGames matches bookended the event and left several major talking points.

The following article looks at just four of the biggest mistakes that were made at Survivor Series: WarGames.

#4. Why did WWE push the masked man to be Seth Rollins?

Brock Lesnar's retirement date leaked? Check the details!

The WWE Universe was fooled once before by Seth Rollins when he claimed he had injured his knee before cashing in his Money in the Bank contract. Rollins' injury this time is clearly real, and he is expected to be out of action for a long time.

The Stomp used on CM Punk as part of the attack is Rollins' finishing move, but it was clear that he wasn't the man delivering it. Paul Heyman has denied that the masked man has anything to do with him, but, clearly, he has his eye on Punk and the World Championship, even though the WWE Universe already worked out that it had to be Austin Theory.

#3. Why did John Cena have no backup?

The Judgment Day has a lot of enemies in the locker room who could have stepped up to help John Cena when he was being attacked by five different stars last night at Survivor Series.

Cena was first attacked by Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, before JD McDonagh and Finn Balor, and finally by the returning Liv Morgan. There could have been so many storylines coming out of this match to push The Judgment Day forward since Cena will not be on RAW. Instead, they left him to defend himself, and in the process, he lost his title to Dominik Mysterio.

#2. Stephanie Vaquer needed a better opponent

As the only Women's Championship being defended on the show, Stephanie Vaquer had a huge role last night, and she was the one who was forced to carry the match.

Aside from the attack from Nikki Bella a few weeks ago, there has been very little hype surrounding this match, and the whole story felt rushed. There was no real reason for Bella to have been handed this title match over the women in the locker room, and she didn't step up in a way that was needed for a premium live event.

#1. Too many WarGames changes

WarGames has become a tradition in WWE over the past few years, and fans already knew what to expect. There was a massive layer of this missing in San Diego because the arena was too small to include the shark cages.

Instead, WWE opted to have the stars enter from backstage, which meant that fans were denied the usual awkward interactions between stars forced to be teammates for the night, or their live reactions to the action in the ring. Brock Lesnar in a shark cage was also something that many fans looked forward to.
