3 WWE injuries that spoiled huge matches

WWE superstar Penta was left seriously injured during his match against Solo Sikoa on Monday Night RAW this week. The Mexican Star attempted a hurricanrana from the top of the barricade on Solo, and hurt his left shoulder in the process. He couldn't further compete in the match and was taken backstage by the medical staff. Solo was declared the winner.

It was an important match for Penta, as it was the quarterfinal of the Last Time is Now tournament. This also isn't the first time that a supersar was injured, and the match had to be called off.

#3 Former WWE superstar, Daniel Bryan, got injured during a match against Randy Orton

Ex-WWE superstar Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) once suffered a legit injury during a No Disqualification match against Randy Orton on RAW in 2013. What Bryan got was a stinger, a nerve injury that causes numbness, pain, and weakness.

The match was called off by the then-Chief Operating Officer, Triple H, and Bryan was taken backstage by the medical staff. It was also rumored that Bryan had a verbal argument with Triple H over the latter calling off the match. However, Hunter stated that, being the COO of the company, it was his job to have concern for the health of the wrestlers in the company.

#2 Former WWE manager, Paige getting a neck injury during a live show

It was during one of the live shows where Paige (aka Saraya) suffered a serious neck injury that brought the curtains down on her in-ring career. She received a kick on her back from Sasha Banks (Mercedes Mone), and that went wrong with Paige falling on her neck. The referee called off the six-woman tag team match, and the medical team attended to Paige.

The 33-year-old superstar later revealed that after that fall, she knew that her injury this time was serious, as she had been suffering from neck injuries before this also. However, she also defended Sasha Banks, saying none of it was her fault, and that they did have a discussion before that kick, and she had asked for it, thinking she could bear it.

#1 Liv Morgan's shoulder injury during the match with Kairi Sane

Former WWE Women's World Champion, Liv Morgan, also suffered a shoulder injury during one of her matches with Kairi Sane on June 16, 2025. The match was called off by the referee, and Liv Morgan was taken backstage.

It was later reported that Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder, and she would be undergoing surgery. She was written off TV, and also had to vacate her tag team title. As of now, there is no update on her return, but rumors suggest that she could be back before WrestleMania 42.

It remains to be seen when The Miracle Kid finally makes her return.
