John Cena has officially ended his WWE career with his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event XLII against Gunther. Immediately after he left the ring, leaving his shoes and bands behind, the sports entertainment juggernaut removed the icon from the active roster and added him to the company's alumni page.
This led fans and pundits to assume that Cena would not return to World Wrestling Entertainment anytime soon. However, a report by Fightful Select suggests that Cena could make future appearances in WWE, both on and off-screen, since he has signed an ambassador deal with the company.
Thus, the Never Seen 17 could return to the sports entertainment juggernaut sooner or later. Meanwhile, here are three things Cena could do at WrestleMania 42 if he returns to WWE.
Is Triple H mad at John Cena? Check in details!
#3. WWE Hall of Fame induction
As the Chain Gang Soldier has retired from World Wrestling Entertainment, he could headline the next edition of the Hall of Fame class and appear at WrestleMania 42.
So far, Stephanie McMahon is the only inductee announced for the 2026 Hall of Fame. Adding John Cena to the list would enhance the 2026 HOF class, and the 17-time World Champion would be a perfect candidate to headline the show.
#2. Host WrestleMania 42
Next year, The Showcase of the Immortals is all set to take place on April 18 and 19 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The Ruthless Aggression legend could also make his presence felt at Mania next, as many were expecting him to be on the show.
John Cena could act as the host for the upcoming edition of The Show of Shows. This would turn the biggest show in professional wrestling even grander.
#1. Attendance announcement
Another way in which the Cenation Leader could grace the fans with his presence is by coming out on night two of WrestleMania 42 and announcing the live attendance.
Legends like Stephanie McMahon, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and more have done the same before, giving fans the chance to see them at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
