The Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series delivered chaos from start to finish, with both teams throwing everything they had just to reign supreme. The bout reached its most dramatic moment in the closing stretch when CM Punk’s team had the momentum riding with them.

However, just when things seemed to be on Punk’s side, the entire arena froze as a masked man climbed the cage and entered the ring, attacked Punk, and delivered a sudden stomp. That interference opened the door for Bron Breakker to hit a brutal spear and score the match-winning pin for The Vision.

Thanks to the mystery attack using the stomp, a move Seth Rollins made famous, fans immediately questioned whether The Vision’s shocking new ally was the former leader of the faction, Seth Rollins himself. However, it doesn’t seem like The Visionary would be the one behind the mask. Let’s look at a few reasons why.

#3. Wade Barrett mentioned that Seth Rollins just underwent surgery

The clearest sign came directly from the commentary desk itself. As soon as the masked man delivered the stomp, Wade Barrett mentioned that Rollins couldn’t be behind the mask since he had just undergone shoulder surgery.

Barrett emphasized that Seth’s procedure recently took place, making any kind of in-ring appearance entirely unrealistic. Rollins has been reported to stay out of action until next year, and Barrett completely made it clear with his words. This could be one of the biggest reasons why the masked man can’t be Seth Rollins.

#2. Seth Rollins won’t forget what The Vision did to him on WWE RAW

Even if Rollins had been healthy, aligning with The Vision makes no storyline sense. The faction brutally attacked Seth on RAW following Crown Jewel, writing him off television in a vicious beatdown. The Vision made it clear they were moving forward without him, and Breakker’s comments repeatedly hinted that Rollins had become a liability for them.

Seth may despise CM Punk, but that hatred isn’t enough to justify teaming up with the same faction that betrayed and assaulted him just a few weeks ago. WWE has spent weeks building Seth’s frustration with The Vision, and a sudden reunion makes it all fade away. This is another reason why Seth couldn’t be behind the mask.

#1. The masked man didn’t look like Seth Rollins

Physically, the mystery attacker didn’t resemble Seth Rollins at all. The man under the mask appeared noticeably leaner, with a more jacked up body, which doesn’t match The Visionary. While the latter has an incredible identity of his own in terms of his physique, it surely didn’t match what the masked man had.

Furthermore, the master of the stomp undoubtedly delivers some of the best stomps in the industry, and the masked man couldn’t match that smoothness. While the stomp delivered to Punk was undoubtedly amazing, it was nothing compared to what Rollins delivers. This could be another hint to confirm that Rollins was not behind the mask.

Only time will tell what WWE has in store for the star next.
