The other matches scheduled for the show include Cody Rhodes vs. Oba Femi, Bayley vs. Sol Ruca and a World Tag Team Championship match between AJ Styles and Dragon Lee vs. Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater.

It has already been confirmed that John Cena vs. Gunther will main event the show, especially considering it will be the veteran's retirement match. And on that note, here are three ways Saturday Night's Main Event XLII could end after Cena's bout.

3. John Cena could deliver a farewell speech

The Never Seen 17 has made it abundantly clear that he will not have another match once his retirement tour is over. He has also mentioned that any future appearances in WWE will feature him wearing a suit, as he will also retire his iconic jorts and T-shirt look following his in-ring retirement.

It is bound to be an emotional evening, regardless of whether or not Cena wins his final WWE match. However, the cameras might not stop rolling after the match. To address the fans in the arena and around the world, he could take the mic and deliver a farewell speech, expressing his gratitude and bidding adieu to the ring.

Since there is no official runtime for this edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, and Cena will likely be able to take his time to share his feelings. Fans will surely want to hear from him after the match, and it would be a major miss to not have him address the WWE Universe after his match.

2. The Rock could return and tell Cena his soul belongs to him

While John Cena has tied up most loose ends on his retirement tour, there is one that is still wide open. His storyline with The Rock remains unfinished, since The Final Boss hasn't made an appearance in WWE since Cena's heel turn at Elimination Chamber 2025.

The Great One could make a surprise appearance and remind Cena that he sold his soul to The Rock. He could go on to add that he will decide when Cena retires, potentially setting up another arc of his retirement tour and a potential match with the Fast and Furious star.

1. The entire locker room could come into the ring to celebrate John Cena

Over the last two decades, Cena has become one of the most influential WWE Superstars of all-time. His work ethic and commitment have inspired countless wrestlers around the world.

Therefore, to celebrate his career and to give him a memorable send-off, the entire locker room could empty out into the ring. They could prop him up onto their shoulders and give him a victory lap of sorts.

WWE has announced a post-show segment for Saturday Night's Main Event as well, which will be streamed on its YouTube channel. The company likely has some plans for a send-off, and it will be interesting to see how they plan to end the show tonight.
