Jey Uso and CM Punk stood face to face on RAW ahead of their clash for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event. The Usos argued after Jey eliminated Jimmy from last week's battle royal, but made up despite The Yeet Master claiming he didn't have room on his plate for issues with his brother.Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss successfully defended the WWE Women's Tag Team titles against Lyra Valkyria and Bayley.Dominik Mysterio's meddling forced Adam Pearce to book a triple threat for the Intercontinental title at Saturday Night's Main Event. With a big weekend ahead, WWE made the next three mistakes on RAW before Saturday Night's Main Event.#3. Going to the well too often with booking in matches View this post on Instagram Instagram PostPenta and Rusev had a no-contest due to El Grande Americano and Los Americanos attacking both men. Roxanne Perez defeated Nikki Bella, but only after a good amount of meddling from Raquel Rodriguez.Finn Balor constantly factored into JD McDonagh's win over Sheamus, including putting his teammate's leg on the ropes during a pin. He also blasted The Celtic Warrior with a shillelagh, leading The Irish Ace to victory. It's okay for one or two contests on a given night to utilize the same tactics. When nearly all of them do, however, it feels like the writers had a lack of ideas. The only match that didn't utilize outside issues was the tag team main event, which would have made sense to have the Kabuki Warriors interfere. They did so after Flair pinned Bayley.#2. The heels rule the night on RAWThe main event tag team match for the WWE Women's tag Team titles was the only contest where both sides were faces. The other four contests had a clear heel vs. face dynamic, making it easier to book.Instead of some variety and having Sheamus or Nikki Bella win, the villains won three of the five matches. Outside interference from heels ended Penta vs. Rusev.Having the good guys beat the villains at least half of the time on a card keeps things level. When one side dominates, it should mean something.Having a brand vs. brand or Survivor Series-type match featuring all of those competitors would have justified the booking. They are not, so the villains winning the night on RAW seemed odd.#1. LA Knight loses againFor a guy who should have already been a World Champion, it feels like writers don't know what to do with LA Knight. He's been in the title picture on RAW since SummerSlam. However, he has either lost without being pinned or had the Vision interfere in his matches. Bron Breakker and Knight aren't fighting for the vacant World Heavyweight title at Saturday Night's Main Event. They faced each other on RAW. It was even for most of the contest, but Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman both distracted The Megastar at different points. The loss seems even more significant since Jey Uso was pinned in a few matches with title implications, yet he is fighting for the title at Saturday Night's Main Event.
