Thomas has been critical of the Indiana Fever fans. She called them out for alleged racial and derogatory comments. Her partner, Bonner, who joined Indiana, was mocked by Fever fans.

Bonner signed a one-year deal with the Indiana Fever in February 2025. She was brought in to add a veteran presence to a young Fever team. However, things didn’t go as planned, as she started the first three games and played the next six from the bench.

She requested a trade, subsequently joining the Mercury. Thomas has been silent about Bonner’s departure from Indiana.
