Sarah Strong is one of the most exciting players to watch in the female college basketball division. The UConn Huskies star has successfully taken over the team's mantle from Paige Bueckers and is looking the lead the defending NCAA champions on a back-to-back run.
Strong's comes from a basketball family. Both of her parents played basketball on a high level. Her father, Danny Strong, was a college basketball player for NC State, while her mother, Allison Feaster, was a professional WNBA player who has played for the LA Sparks and the Indiana Fever.
On Friday, Feaster appeared as a guest on Swin Cash's "She's Got Time" podcast. During her appearance, the former Sparks forward made a heartfelt confession about the changes in her life after her daughter's rise to stardom.
"Seriously though, like my identity is no more," Feaster said. (Timestamp: 0:30)
Later, Cash asked the former Sparks player, who is now an executive in the Boston Celtics' front office, for her thoughts on being recognized as Sarah Strong's mother and not as a former W player.
"It's unreal to tell you the truth," Feaster said. "You know, you have children and you know all that goes into raising them. I never imagined that she would had the year that she had at UConn and just the journey... I am really proud."
Feaster has played a big role in her daughter's development. Her constant presence in the Huskies' star's life has molded Strong into a fearless basketball player who is not afraid to take on risks on the court.
