Indiana Fever fans are hoping for Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull to continue their stint with Caitlin Clark in 2026. Both Fever guards are free agents; Cunningham is unrestricted, while Hull is restricted. The three players developed strong chemistry in the locker room, but they did not get the opportunity to translate that \on the court due to injuries to Clark and Cunningham.

"Tell them to pay us."

Cunningham wasn't referencing the Fever, but the WNBA amid the league's new CBA negotiations with the players' association.

The negotiations have been ongoing for months, and the two parties have yet to agree on a deal. The players want their salaries to be tied to the league's revenue, while the WNBA wants to cap the players' income at a fixed rate. The deadline for the negotiations was Oct. 31, but the sides agreed to extend it until Nov. 30.

If the league and players' association still don't agree to a deal, it could result in a work stoppage.

What Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull have said on returning to Caitlin Clark's Fever

The outcome of free agency will depend on how the new CBA rules are implemented. For now, players can only express what they intend to do when they are in a position to make decisions on their free agency. Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull have both shared their perspectives on the matter.

During the Fever's exit interviews in October, Hull said she loved her time in Indiana, but admitted her restricted free agency raises "uncertainty":

"I’m a restricted free agent, which changes things a bit, but I’ve loved my years here in Indiana. Obviously, with a lot of uncertainty, you don’t know what’s to come, but I’ve built a life here. I love this franchise. I love the people, the fans, so we’ll see."

Meanwhile, Cunningham also wishes she could return, but revealed the CBA negotiations have held up her free agency talks with the Fever. Here's what she said on her podcast in October:

"Next year, I don't even know what that looks like ... those conversations haven't even been had because of the CBA, so it's kind of delayed and what not.
"If Indiana were to bring back their core, it would be a huge big deal."

Indiana's priority will be to re-sign All-Star Kelsey Mitchell. However, Cunningham and Hull certainly seem next in line.
