Sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bueckers captioned it with a five-word message.

"Run it back, year 6!" Buecker tweeted.

She shared the post after UConn's official page trolled her for donning their warm-up top, despite having left the team.

"Like, how did you get our warm-up top, you don’t even go here," the tweet read.

Paige Bueckers' teasing year six showed her love and loyalty towards the UConn Huskies program. The guard joined the team in 2020 and spent five seasons with the team, including a redshirt year in 2022 after suffering an ACL injury.

Throughout her career, she shattered multiple records and cemented her legacy as one of the program’s greats. Her standout season came last year, when she led the Huskies to their first NCAA title in over nine years.

In their first game without Bueckers, the Huskies put up a strong display as they faced the Louisville Cardinals in the Peraton Armed Forces Classic. UConn came out firing, dominating the opening quarter 25–9 to set the tone early. Though Louisville mounted a comeback in the later stages, the Huskies’ explosive start proved decisive as they secured a 79–66 victory.

UConn will host its first game at the Gampel Pavilion on Sunday as it welcomes the Florida State Seminoles. The Huskies enter the matchup as clear favorites as they look to defend their crown and chase a second straight NCAA title.

During the game, commentator Holly Rowe asked Bueckers about how she felt watching her team as a spectator.

"Definitely weird. Definitely a surreal feeling of being in a different position, watching from a different perspective.” Paige expressed, “Not being yelled at when a UConn game is on. It’s all different vibes, but I am very happy to be here and very excited to watch from this perspective

Despite being in the stands, Bueckers' former teammates didn't disappoint her, earning a resounding win in their first game of the season.
