Liz Cambage and PlaqueBoyMax played two separate matches. The first was a game to 15, which was later adjusted to win by 2, and a “double or nothing” rematch to 21. In Game 1, he trailed early but rallied to tie the game at 14-14, with Cambage later regaining control and winning the first game 16-14.

In the second game, PlaqueBoyMax briefly led 20-18, but missed a match point. Cambage tied it at 20-20 and on the final possession, he was fouled and then made his free throws to secure a 21-20 win.

The defeat to Cambridge has gained traction due to the debate between WNBA and high school players. NBA players Michael Porter Jr. and Lonzo Ball claimed that elite male youth players could beat WNBA players in a basketball game. Porter asserted that as an 8th grader, he could dominate WNBA players, while Ball added that as a ninth grader, he would perform extremely well against women pros.

"I feel like women gotta make more money playing the sport they love," Camabge said. "I think everyone has gotta get it how they can ... as I'm standing here in a mink.”

Cambage in 2025 started an OnlyFans page and has reportedly made more than a million dollars. This is coming as the W are still in negotiations with its players over a new CBA which expires on Jan. 9, 2026, after a 40-day extension was agreed on Nov. 30.

The league proposed a major increase in compensation. According to reports, the proposal would set a maximum base salary of around $1 million for top players in 2026, a minimum salary above $225,000, and a team salary cap projected at up to $5 million, a large jump from about $1.5 million in 2025.
