DiJonai Carrington Drops Crucial Update on Recovery From Foot Injury That Sidelined Lynx Star From Unrivaled

WNBA star DiJonai Carrington gave a positive update on her rehab from injury. The Minnesota Lynx guard sustained a significant mid-foot sprain in her left foot back in September. It happened during a game against the Golden State Valkyries and was ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 season.

Carrington is set to use the offseason to take care of her body and recover from the injury. Unrivaled Basketball also announced that the 2024 Most Improved Player will miss the league's second season. She plays for the Lynx alongside Breanna Stewart, Allisha Gray, Arike Ogunbowale, Veronica Burton, Alanna Smith and Li Yueru.

On X, Carrington revealed that her doctor told her everything looks great.

"2 months post-op todayyyyy and doc said everything looks greatttt😁🙌🏽🥹" Carrington posted. "long way to go but a long way from where I started— mentally & physically🩷 small wins."

Carrington underwent the necessary surgery to repair the damage. In November, she gave fans a sneak peek of her road to recovery, posting on her Instagram stories to show her progress.

The Lynx guard was able to walk without a boot, which made her emotional.

"first time "walking" 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹," she posted. "y'all don't know how hard these last 2 months since my injury++++ life changes have been but officially 6 weeks post op today & starting the weight bearing process."

DiJonai Carrington started the 2025 season with the Dallas Wings. However, she was traded midway through the campaign. The former Baylor standout played 11 games for her new team and averaged 8.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

DiJonai Carrington won't be able to see any on-court action anytime soon. Her top priority is to recover fully from the foot injury and be at 100% once the 2026 WNBA season starts. With a prolonged absence from the court, she has begun to look for other ways to stay busy.

In October, TMZ Sports caught up with the WNBA player. She expressed her disappointment about how her season ended. However, Carrington revealed that she's planning to tap into the social media scene.

“Now I’m thinking about how to maximize this next however long I’m not going to be able to play for — something on social media, whether it’s streaming, really tapping into that beauty side, YouTube videos, TikTok, I don’t know yet," the Lynx guard said.
