Angel Reese has been criticized for her efficiency close to the basket since her rookie season. She averaged 13.6 points, shooting 39.1% in 2024. While she made a sizable jump last season, recording 14.7 points on 45.8% shooting, the criticism has not stopped.

A closer look at Angel Reese’s massive offseason

While critics continue to mock her, Angel Reese has stayed unfazed and is continuing to build her brand off the court. Reese is having a historic offseason, reaching new horizons as a basketball star. She made history in October by becoming the first professional athlete to walk the ramp for Victoria’s Secret.

Reese also made headlines with her outfit at Chanel's Métiers d'Art show. Furthermore, her debut signature shoe has quickly become one of the brand’s best-selling shoes. Amid all this, Reese also faces an uncertain future with the Chicago Sky, owing to her friction with the team and its poor results last season.

The Sky suspended Reese for half a game last season after her comments to the Chicago Tribune were determined to be detrimental to the team. Ever since, she has been the subject of several trade rumors. On top of what has already been a huge offseason, the star forward might find herself looking for a new team.

However, it will be a while before fans get to see Reese back on a basketball court. She will not be participating in Unrivaled this year, as she wishes to focus on rest and recovery after suffering from back injuries near the end of last season.
