Angel Reese dropped a message for her former Chicago Sky head coach, Teresa Weatherspoon, on her special day. Weatherspoon celebrated her 60th birthday on Monday, ahead of her second coaching season for Unrivaled. She's set to lead Vinyl BC once again this upcoming January.
In a post on her Instagram stories, Reese greeted Weatherspoon with a happy birthday. She composed a short message for her former Sky coach, who was born on December 8, 1965, in Pineland, Texas.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPOON. So thankful for you! Legend," Reese wrote.

Teresa Weatherspoon is considered one of the greatest players in WNBA history. She was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. She became the head coach of the Chicago Sky in 2024 after three seasons as an assistant for the New Orleans Pelicans.
Teresa Weatherspoon coached Angel Reese as a rookie
The Chicago Sky selected Angel Reese with the No. 7 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Reese had a fantastic rookie campaign for Chicago, and her first coach was Terese Weatherspoon. They developed a bond, with Reese learning a lot from the Hall of Famer.
However, the Sky failed to succeed as a team, finishing with a record of 13-27. They didn't make the playoffs, and Weatherspoon was surprisingly fired after just one season in charge.
The franchise's decision upset Reese, who vented her frustration on social media, as per ESPN. Weatherspoon was replaced by Tyler Marsh, who went 10-34 last season in his coaching debut. But unlike Weatherspoon, Marsh seems to be keeping his job for next season.
Angle Reese skipping Unrivaled's second season
After winning the first Unrivaled championship with Rose BC last season, Angel Reese decided to skip the second year of the 3-on-3 league. Reese won't be staying busy this offseason after a back injury slowed her down in the latter part of the regular season, as reported by BET.
Reese missed 14 games as a sophomore, so she's using this offseason to recharge her body. She did keep herself busy by walking the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in October, making history with gymnast Suni Lee as the first athletes to walk the fashion event.
The Chicago Sky star's future with the franchise is also in question after her comments about the organization late last season. She was even suspended and had to apologize to some of her teammates for throwing them under the bus.
