Former NBA guard Jason Williams said that his high school team would beat the 2025 WNBA All-Stars.On the first episode of "Hoopin' N Hollerin" on Tuesday, while discussing the best "white" players with Patrick Beverley and Rone, Williams said:"1994 DuPont High School in West Virginia would beat the WNBA All-Star team today."Williams then praised the DuPont Panthers center at that time, who was Billy Gilmore. Williams also teamed up with Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss. They made it to the West Virginia State Championship in 1994, before losing to Martinsburg in the title game.Williams, nicknamed "White Chocolate," went on to play for 12 seasons in the NBA from 1998 until 2011. The Sacramento Kings selected him as the No. 7 pick of the 1998 draft, and Williams was named to the All-Rookie First Team that season. In 2006, Williams played the key starting point guard role for the Miami Heat's run to the championship. The Heat were led by Naismith Basketball Hall of Famers Shaquille O'Neal and Dwayne Wade. Another HOF, Gary Payton, served as Williams' backup.Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. also made a controversial comment about the WNBA All-Stars. In an appearance on a Twitch stream on Aug. 29, Porter claimed the McDonald's All-American team would beat a WNBA All-Star team. How would the WNBA All-Stars fare against Jason Williams' HS team? While Jason Williams' DuPont Panthers weren't able to win the state championship in 1994, they are well-regarded by their opponents. Dave Rogers, the coach of DuPont's rival, Martinsburg, said that the Panthers had the "best players" at that time, led by Williams and Randy Moss.In an article by The Journal's Rick Kozlowski in 2019, Rogers added that they were able to beat DuPont because of their teamwork and due to his team being special. The Martinsburg Bulldogs coach acknowledged how great their opponents were."They played a 1-3-1 (defense) and they were lengthy and athletic," Rogers said.In addition, Williams and Moss were reportedly invited to join Martinsburg's championship's 25th anniversary celebration in 2019.If the WNBA All-Stars will face Williams' high school team, A'ja Wilson and Co. will definitely have a hard time against a "lenghty and athletic" defense. The WNBA All-Stars would be at a size disadvantage. However, they could win if they utilize their strength, playing fast and having a proficient offense on the back of elite shooters like Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu.
