Pokimane says recent sexual assault and harassment incidents in streaming community "bring up emotions from her past traumas"

Twitch star Imane "Pokimane" has issued a statement regarding the recent sexual assault and harassment incidents that have come to light in the streaming community, saying that they "bring up a lot of emotions from her own past traumas."

For context, on October 23, 2025, Nina Lin made headlines when she and Zoe Spencer were accused of sexually assaulting FaZe Silky's assistant, Said. The situation resulted in the two streamers' Twitch channels getting temporarily banned from the platform.

On October 25, 2025, Emily "Emiru" hosted a Just Chatting livestream during which she accused Matthew "Mizkif" of sexual assault, harassment, domestic and physical abuse, stalking, and blackmail threats.

Eventually, more female streamers came forward with their alleged experiences with Mizkif, with Quqco accusing him of sexual assault, Angela "AriaSaki" alleging that he was "terrible" to others, and Novaruu accusing him of sexual harassment.

On October 29, 2025, Pokimane took to X to explain why she had not commented on the recent news in the streaming sphere, stating that she "felt the focus should be on the victims and allegations." While claiming that it "also feels wrong not to say anything," the Moroccan-Canadian personality wrote:

"i've gotten a lot of comments asking me to speak on recent news, and i didn't tweet sooner because i felt the focus should be on the victims and allegations, but it also feels wrong not to say anything :( sexual assault and harassment should be taken seriously regardless of the gender of the perpetrator or victim. there's already so much shame associated with speaking out on these experiences, when in reality the shame should lie with the abuser. if i'm ever slow to comment on things like this, it's because these situations bring up a lot of emotions from my own past traumas, which i don't know if i'll share publicly. i hope this makes my stance clear ♥️"

"Still somehow managed to make it about herself" - Sneako reacts to Pokimane's X post

Controversial internet personality Nico "Sneako" has responded to Pokimane's X post mentioned above by saying that she "still somehow managed to make" the recent sexual assault and harassment incidents in the streaming community "about herself."

He added:

"Pokimane saw her friend sexually assault a man and still somehow managed to make it about herself. Each passing day twitch shocks itself deeper into the dog."

Pokimane made headlines in September 2025 when she responded to allegations of narcissism via an X post.
