Twitch and Kick streamer Zack "Asmongold" has claimed he was banned and "blacklisted" from all Chinese social media platforms for comments he made. During a livestream on November 14, 2025, Asmongold commented on Hasan "HasanAbi's" ongoing trip to China. He also reacted to a clip in which the Turkish-American personality discussed his popularity in the country.

After explaining how he rose to popularity among Chinese citizens, the co-founder of OTK (One True King) stated that he had been suspended from all social media platforms in the country for the statements he made.

Asmongold said:

"This has been my history with China. Okay? So, for a long time, China would watch me because I played WoW (World of Warcraft). WoW was really big in China. So, okay, everything was fine. Then, obviously, I moved to Final Fantasy, some of them don't play that over there, and then I made some comments about China that were negative, and I got banned from all Chinese social media. Nobody was posting anything about me on social media. Period. In China. They were done with it. This has gone on for like three years. Three years, I was blacklisted in China. They did not want to look at me."

According to Zack, "things changed" when Black Myth Wukong was released in 2024:

"But then, things changed. Then Black Myth Wukong came out, and they said, 'Yeah, he did say that s**t about Taiwan, but he really likes this game. All right. All right, bring him back. Bring him back, it's all right. Yep, come on. Come on back in. It's okay.' I was readmitted back on Bilibili. Yes, we are so back. Now you have all these Chinese channels reposting my content everywhere."

Asmongold explains how he got popular in China

Before Asmongold claimed that he had been banned and "blacklisted" from all Chinese social media platforms for making a "negative" statement, he described how he became popular in the country.

While claiming that Chinese people "agree" with his views on how video games should be developed and "the types of things that should and should not be included" in them, the Texan said:

"It's because I play video games a lot, and I play their video games a lot. And they like that I play their games. That's the reason why. And also, what I think is even funnier is that a lot of my viewpoints on the way video games should be made, and the types of things that should and should not be included in video games, do you know who agrees with me on that a lot? Chinese people. They do."

Asmongold made headlines on November 8, 2025, when he responded to Nina Lin's claim that he was "obsessed" with her.
