The situation resulted in numerous netizens voicing their displeasure, with some claiming that a "non-VTuber" personality won the title, which is supposed to recognize the best virtual streamer.The situation has also left the online community wondering if TheBurntPeanut considers himself a VTuber, after he referred to himself as a "PTuber" in response to his win at The Streamer Awards 2025.On September 19, 2025, the streamer appeared as a guest on the Around The Bar Podcast, hosted by OpTic Hitch. At the 12-minute mark, TheBurntPeanut stated that he "makes fun of VTubers quite a bit," adding that he does not consider himself a VTuber:"Well, I make fun of VTubers quite a bit.
