The Mighty Nein season 1 is set to make its debut on Prime Video on November 19, 2025. The second campaign of Critical Role inspired this animated series. It will follow misfit adventurers as they fight sinister powers that threaten their world.

The show is about a group of heroes and each of them has a difficult past. They work together to fight powerful enemies from Exandria and then start their journey. They must rely on each other as they explore a world of magic, strife, and peril, forming a family. The Mighty Nein looks at their bravery, battles, and relationships that were shaped by chaos.

The official synopsis, according to Prime Video, reads,

"A group of outcasts, criminals and misfits stumble into saving the continent when an arcane relic capable of reshaping reality falls into the wrong hands."

The voice cast for The Mighty Nein includes members from the Critical Role team, including Laura Bailey, Ashley Johnson, Liam O'Brien, and Taliesin Jaffe. They reprise their roles as characters such as Jester, Yasha, Caleb, and Mollymauk.

Each episode of season 1 will run between 44 to 60 minutes. The first three episodes will be released together on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, while the remaining episodes will be rolled out weekly.

The show will take viewers to Wildemount, where the Dwendalian Empire and the Kryn Dynasty hostilities rise. The Mighty Nein's exploits begin with the theft of The Beacon, a great artefact. The group must avoid conflict and save the kingdom in this chaotic planet.

Production details of The Mighty Nein season 1

Season 1 is produced by Metapigeon, Titmouse, and Amazon MGM Studios for Amazon Prime Video. The series adapts the second campaign of Critical Role, and it is set 20 years after the events of The Legend of Vox Machina.

Following the unveiling of the project in January 2023, production started in March of that same year. Titmouse Studios, which is well-known for its work on Big Mouth and Vox Machina, is in charge of the animation.
