After the carnival commotion dies down, Deadeye, who had the orb containing important information, is seen walking home at the end of the episode. Owelia, a mysterious figure, follows him and murders him, taking the orb with her.
The beginning of the episode introduces Mollymauk, who has a quick, carefree moment with his loved ones before going to ensure the carnival goes well. He talks to Gustav, his friend and boss, about the importance of getting a lot of people to attend.
With its oddities and unusual creatures, the carnival initially seems innocuous, but as the evening progresses, the true threat emerges. Hidden secrets make the carnival more than it seems. Mollymauk's relationship to this chaotic environment is rapidly established, revealing his deep nature beyond his function as a master of ceremonies.

The Devil Toad unleashed

The devil toad, a huge, menacing creature predicted to be a carnival highlight, darkens the festivities. The handler, Toya, says the toad likes child blood. This creates a tense environment as the crowd is both worried and curious.
Caleb and Nott steal the toad's magical bugs, which drives the story. These bugs are essential to Caleb’s magical experiments, and they pose a temptation that will play a pivotal role in the unfolding disaster.
Chaos breaks out when the toad is released at the carnival. When it loses control, the creature attacks the audience. The brave Jester volunteers to stand in the toad's mouth for the show, but when the toad becomes hostile, things swiftly go awry.
As the toad launches venomous shards into the crowd, they transform into reptile-like monsters that assault and devour others. The characters scramble to survive and protect themselves in a gory sequence.
The aftermath: Violence and betrayal

The main characters take different paths after the toad's rampage sets off a chain of events. Nott interrupts Beau while he is still searching for Deadeye's information and takes the orb, which contains the important hint inside.
Because of what Nott did, there is a physical altercation, and the chaos at the fair gets worse. The toad is still on a killing spree and kills many people in the crowd. As the violence gets worse, the circus tent is set on fire.
Before the beast's keeper regains control, the toad kills many and destroys the carnival. In the midst of the chaos, guards surround the damaged gang. As the episode draws to a close, viewers are left with a sense of foreboding, knowing that the consequences of this event will shape the characters' paths moving forward.
