Amazon Prime Video has officially confirmed that The Boys final season will be released on April 8, 2026, exclusively on the platform. The American superhero series first premiered in July 2019, nearly 11 years after the plans for the comic book’s adaptation started. It was first slated to be a trilogy of films, but that plan was scrapped.
The project eventually got revived in 2016 as a television show, with Eric Kripke announced as the showrunner. The series has won four Primetime Emmy Awards from twelve nominations, seven Critics’ Choice Super Awards, and several other accolades.

Not only that, Homelander is spotted beating somebody halfway into the trailer while clips of the Deep, Black Noir, Kimiko, Frenchie, and several other characters appear.

Season 5 of The Boys will make its official debut on April 8, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video. The fifth and final season will premiere with two episodes, followed by new episodes every week thereafter. The show’s finale is scheduled for release on May 20, 2026.
The announcement comes nearly six years after the first season of the series premiered, marking the end of the parent series. The focus, reportedly, will now be on the spin-offs, including Gen V, alongside a prequel, titled Vought Rising, which is reportedly in production.

Homelander’s authoritative rule has transformed the world while Annie (Starlight) attempts to mount a resistance. However, she struggles to do so before Butcher reappears with a drastic plan that could potentially wipe out every Supe on the planet.

"In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found."
It continues:
"But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen."

Who stars in The Boys final season?

The Boys final season will see Karl Urban reprise his role as William “Billy” Butcher, one of the main leads. Urban was nominated for several awards for his portrayal of Butcher, including a Hollywood Critics Association TV Award and a Critics' Choice Super Award.
Joining him are Antony Starr as Homelander, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, and several others.
The Boys final season will also see Jared Padalecki reunite with former Supernatural cast members Jensen Ackles and Eric Kripke as he joins the cast. His role has remained under wraps, but he makes an appearance in the trailer, wearing a tracksuit, and is closely followed by Ackles’ Soldier Boy.
