The Abandons season 1 is a new action series on Netflix, which was released on December 4, 2025. The seven-episode series brought a complex tale from the Old West, showcasing the intense conflicts between haves and have-nots.

The Abandons season 1 followed two matriarchs, Fiona Nolan and Constance Van Ness, who were willing to make every effort for their children. The difference between them lay in their statures, with Constance hailing from the wealthy and powerful Van Ness family and Fiona making her own family with orphans.

Dahlia's experiences with Constance's son, Willem, became a turning point in the show, which intensified the feud between Fiona and Constance. When Constance learns the truth behind her son's death through Trisha, the former gets Dahlia abducted. In the final moments of the series, Fiona heads to Constance's estate alone, where Dahlia was kept. Meanwhile, her boys prepared to charge at the estate in full force.

As Fiona meets Constance, the latter shows her power by demeaning Fiona and torturing Dahlia in front of her eyes. The painful moments showcase Constance's indifference to others' pains when her ambitions are on the line. However, Elias and the rest take this moment and attack the estate, shooting Constance's men and setting her house on fire. Constance runs into her house before it is set ablaze.

While Dahlia is saved and the victory seems to be in Fiona's hands, things take a turn as the latter enters the burning house. Fiona's children and the others overlook the house as she fearlessly heads to end Constance's life.

Navigating through the flames, she finds Constance on the upper floor of the house, trying to save her possessions in the attic. The two engage in a physical fight, attacking each other with powerful blows as the fire grew stronger.

The final moment of The Abandons season 1 showcased the two women's inner frustrations as they fought with each other. Constance sees her empire crumbling down, losing all the possibilities she had to achieve her ambitions and dreams. She says, "You will not be our end," as she strikes at Fiona in the final moments, which reflects her pain and sorrow over seeing everything fall apart.
