Taylor Sheridan brings another Yellowstone spinoff in the upcoming Y: Marshals series. It's the same Neo-Western television series that Yellowstone fans loved in the original show. But this one puts one of the Dutton men in the spotlight: Kayce Dutton.

CBS and Paramount+ have also announced the premiere date, along with the confirmation of the series. Y: Marshals will premiere on CBS on Sunday, March 1, 2026, and it's set to bring both familiar faces and new ones. Luke Grimes will be back to play the character in the all-new series that will tell the tale of his time in the U.S. Marshals, leaving ranch life to join the elite unit.

The upcoming Kayce Dutton-led series is one of the several Yellowstone spinoffs on the horizon. The Dutton family prequels, 1923 and 1883, are already out, and another prequel, 1944, and The Dutton Ranch spinoff are both in development.

What is Y: Marshals going to be about?

Y: Marshals follow Kayce Dutton, leaving Yellowstone Ranch and joining an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, where his skills as a cowboy and a Navy SEAL will come in handy in bringing justice to Montana. Their elite unit is considered the "last line of defense in the region's war on violence," according to the CBS website synopsis of the show.

With such an important and equally dangerous job, Kayce and his teammates must balance family and duty, as well as the consequences that come with the job. In the teaser from CBS, via TV Line, some of the things Kayce will be dealing with in the spinoff include "changing paths," "trying to find a new beginning," and "grappling with some skeletons" he would rather keep in the closet.
