In Forsaken, the second episode of Spartacus: House of Ashur Season 1, Ashur deals with Roman high society and politics while the training of gladiators starts in his new home, and the gladiatrix Achillia goes through a harsh training program. Achillia proves her worth and earns her place in the House of Ashur at the end of the episode, even though the other gladiators and her trainer don't want her there.
Korris' acceptance of Achillia is necessary for her survival and training in the House of Ashur, but it does not protect her from the powerful, hostile Roman nobility.
In this alternate reality, Ashur is Dominus, the wealthy and ambitious House of Ashur master.
Spartacus: House Of Ashur season 1 episode 2: Achillia’s proof of earning respect through Brute force

The end of Spartacus: House of Ashur season 1, episode 2, is based on the scene with Achillia and the male gladiators. Some of the male warriors see Achillia as unworthy and are intimidated by her confidence and presence. After a night of drinking, two gladiators, Creticus and Ephesius, try to take control of Achillia.
Achillia fights back with great force, killing anyone who tries to hurt her. In a desperate moment, she is able to rip off Creticus's private parts with her bare hands, killing him. Creticus's death makes the other gladiators angry, and they want Achillia to be punished for killing a comrade. At first, the doctor Korris also wants to punish her.
Korris hasn't fought in a while, but to show control and punishment, he challenges Achillia to a sword fight right away. The fight is very violent, and Achillia is quickly pushed to the edge of the cliff. She seems doomed to lose and be punished. But Achillia manages to give Korris's face a small cut that draws blood, which is a smart move.
How did Ashur’s best Warrior, Logas, die?

In Spartacus: House of Ashur season 1, Episode 2, the character Dominus, also called Ashur, has a hard time making his house well-known among the rich and powerful. Other noble families, especially those who don't let the House of Ashur compete in gladiator games, don't want them to take part.
Dominus is excited to go into the gladiator arena because he knows that the quickest way to get famous and respected is to win. After being turned down officially, he goes up to the aedile, the person who set up the fight, on the street. Cossutia, Gabinius's wife, steps in out of the blue and gives Dominus a chance. She, however, thinks it's a joke and believes he will fail.
Dominus killed his best warrior on a whim and now regrets it, so he sets up a competition in his house to find a new champion. Logas is chosen as the best gladiator from the House of Ashur to compete in the upcoming event. Logas secretly looks up to Spartacus and wants to lead a rebellion, but Logas doesn't tell Dominus.
Logas is ready to box, but the opponent is a huge offense to Dominus. Logas is going up against the Ferox Brothers, three short men from the House of Proculus who are known for being very good at fighting. Logas is forced to fight three people at the same time.
Sadly, Logas falls in the ring. The Ferox Brothers brutally kill him and then further humiliate the House of Ashur by desecrating his corpse. The incident confirms that the other nobles still look down on a) the House of Ashur and b) its leader.
What was Achillia’s true motivation for becoming a Gladiator?

Dominus goes to the port for business after Logas's death and sees a fierce woman defeating Roman guards. Neferet (later Achilia), an enslaved African woman, is a skilled fighter.
His wife and Korris, his doctor/trainer, are shocked by Dominus's plan to make Achillia his gladiator because Roman custom forbids female gladiators. However, Dominus thinks this unconventional choice is brilliant. He thinks the controversy will draw huge attention to Ashur. He believes the negative publicity will make his house famous and respected.
Achillia initially refuses to fight for Dominus, attacking him at the first chance to escape slavery. Dominus uses his experience as a slave and gladiator to calm her.
Dominus offers her the only way to escape: become a gladiator and win a major tournament. As a former slave, he assures her this is possible. Achillia joins the House of Ashur and Korris' brutal training program only to win her freedom.
Why did Senator Gabinius invite Dominus to dinner?

Dominus is cautiously hopeful when he gets an official dinner invitation from Senator Gabinius, a rich and powerful nobleman, even though the noble families always disrespect him. Dominus is right that this invitation could help him get ahead in politics, especially since he is close to Crassus.
Dominus first thinks that Gabinius wants to use his relationship with Crassus to get ahead in politics. But when Gabinius asks Dominus to be honest about him, the dinner goes worse. Gabinius is old, politically weak, unpopular with his peers, and Dominus thinks he can't control his wife, Cossutia.
Gabinius is angry about this brutal honesty. The senator's real goal is to humiliate people. He invited Dominus just to remind him that he didn't belong. He then cruelly makes Dominus leave his house, which shows how much the House of Ashur is hated by others.
Viridia, Gabinius's daughter, is the only person Dominus has a good time with during the visit. Viridia, whose husband was killed by Spartacus's rebels, looks up to Dominus a lot because he is said to have killed the Thracian rebel. Dominus could make a big political and romantic move by using her deep hatred of Spartacus. This could really help his social standing in the future.
